Deep Dive (Beginner's Jam April 2024)

Deep Dive is a game that I made for the Beginner's Jam in April 2024 ! The game was made using Pico-8.

The game:

Deep Dive is a kind of arcade action game where you fall deeper and deeper! Luckily you have your umbrella to help you glide!

Use the updraft to lift you up and dive down on enemies to hit them!

Go deeper and deeper and complete the 7 levels to beat the game. If you want more, try the (very experimental) randomised mode!

Game Mode :

• Tutorial: Learn how to play the game ;)
• Adventure: Play through7 levels, and beat the game!
• Randomized: Play through randomised levels and try to survive as long as possible. (Very experimental features !! )

Keyboard controls :

• [🠔][🠖]: move
• [ 🠕 ] : Glide (Deploy Umbrella), slow you down when falling
• [ 🠗 ] : Dive (Cancel Umbrella). Dive onto enemies to attack them!
• [Y] or [C] or [X] or [V] : (Menu only) Select
• [P] or [ENTER]: Pause / Settings

Gamepad controls (E.g. X-Box):

• [🠔][🠖]: move

About me:

I'm Zellkoss, nice to meet you! I like to program in my spare time and recently I discovered Pico 8. I started making some prototypes with it and made a little puzzle game.

This led me to Game Jam, I did my first one in April (FishFest Game Jam) and this jam is my second!
